Stress-Testing Europe’s Path Towards Commercial Fusion Energy Deployment – Aligning EU and National Approaches

This event is part of the EU Sustainable Energy Days 2026 and positions fusion energy as a strategic clean-tech solution for Europe: one that complements renewables, reinforces energy system resilience, supports industrial leadership, and underpins the EU’s ambition to remain competitive in the global clean-tech race. The goal is to outline the necessary tenets of the upcoming release of the EU’s first Fusion Strategy and how to best align with leading Member State to maximize momentum towards commercial fusion energy in Europe. The session will address key regulatory, financial, market and R&I gaps that must be overcome to accelerate the commercial deployment of fusion energy, supporting a competitive, resilient, energy-secure and decarbonised Europe.
