FIA Job Opening: Director for European Advocacy

From the FIA
Overview

The Fusion Industry Association (FIA) is seeking a Director for European Advocacy to lead our advocacy and policy engagement across Europe. This senior-level role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of clean energy by driving policy, regulatory, and funding strategies that support the growth of commercial fusion energy.

The FIA is the leading voice of the private fusion energy industry, representing the 43 companies from around the world working to commercialize clean, safe, and limitless energy from fusion. Founded in 2021, the FIA is a dynamic, fast-growing policy and advocacy organization with global reach. We unite science, industry, and policy to accelerate the path to fusion energy on a timeline relevant to today’s climate and energy challenges.

As the FIA’s lead representative in Europe, the Director will engage directly with national governments, EU institutions, and international organizations such as the IAEA, IEA, and ITER. The successful candidate will execute a coordinated strategy to elevate fusion as a strategic energy and innovation priority across national and multilateral forums. This role reports to FIA’s CEO and collaborates closely with member companies and FIA’s Europe Committee.

    • Promote public-private partnerships that support commercialization-stage fusion companies.
    • Build coalitions with cleantech, deeptech, and energy innovation stakeholders to align funding and regulatory priorities.
  • Execute Strategy and Amplify FIA’s Voice
    • Develop FIA policy positions, strategy documents, and joint statements with input from FIA leadership, member companies and the Europe Committee.
    • Organize FIA events, advocacy missions, and public engagements across European cities and international venues.
