Fusion at COP27
Fusion energy was represented at the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh.
November 15 was Energy Day at COP27. FIA member companies Commonwealth Fusion Systems and Helion Energy participated in a fusion energy panel alongside representatives from the U.K. Atomic Energy Authority, U.S. State Department, Energy for the Common Good, and Gabriela Hearst, Chloé creative director who made waves at Paris Fashion Week this year with her fusion-inspired collection. The panel, from 12:45 pm – 1:45 pm (GMT+2) in the UNFCCC Pavilion (livestreamed below), focused on the future of fusion and its impact in mitigating the climate crisis.
In addition to the panel, FIA member company General Fusion participated in the conference, having productive conversations with global clean energy leaders.
