Join the FIA in supporting the growth of fusion energy
Are you interested in supporting the clean energy of the future? The Fusion Industry Association (FIA) is the unified voice of the fusion industry, working to transform the energy system with commercially viable fusion power.
The FIA is looking for current or recently graduated students interested in hands-on public policy experience for full- and part-time internships. You would join a small team that is already making a difference, building public-private partnerships with the U.S. government, working with the NRC to make sure that fusion is appropriately regulated, and showing the world how fusion will remake the global energy system.
Interns will support FIA staff in multiple areas including communications, policy development, programming, and research. The intern will be responsible for a variety of outreach tasks, writing press releases, event reviews, and contributing to reports.
FIA’s internship program offers interns the opportunity to interface with the growing private fusion community, as well as with the broader energy community. These internships can be conducted remotely, with options to work in the office, located in downtown DC, if conditions permit.
Applicants should be at least a junior in college. Strong writing skills are required, as is the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate should have a background and interest in either energy public policy or physical science. Experience in physics and plasma science is not required but would be an asset. Interns should be authorized to work in the United States
Applicants should be willing to work at least 20 hours per week, and be available 3 days per week or more.
Applicants for the internship should send a 1.) cover letter, 2.) resume, 3.) references, and a 4.) short writing sample (2 pg. max) to FIA Manager for Outreach Caroline Anderson at caroline@FusionIndustryAssociation.org.
