The Fusion Industry Association (FIA) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have announced a partnership to work together on efforts accelerating commercial fusion. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi and FIA Chief Executive Officer Andrew Holland signed the agreement on November 6 in Rome, alongside the inaugural World Fusion Energy Group meeting.
On November 6, government ministers, senior officials, and fusion industry leaders from across the globe gathered in Rome for the inaugural meeting of the World Fusion Energy Group (WFEG). Co-organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Italian government, the event highlighted the growing international efforts in commercializing fusion power.
On September 10 and then 16-20, the IAEA held its Board of Governors Meeting and General Conference in Vienna, Austria. Both events had discussions on growth in the fusion industry, development and deployment, and strategy moving forward.
