Fusion Energy: Unlocking the Path Forward is scheduled for 10:30am on May 7. Panelists will give an overview of the fusion industry, discuss the intersection of AI and fusion, highlight energy security, and underline priorities key to US leadership.

  • Moderator: Andrew Holland, Chief Executive Officer, Fusion Industry Association
  • Andrew Proffitt, Regulatory Specialist, Helion Energy
  • David Edelman, Chief Policy & Global Affairs Officer, TAE Technologies
  • Heather Jackson, Technology-to-Market Advisor, ARPA-E
  • Scott Hsu, Senior Advisor and Lead Fusion Coordinator, US Department of Energy

The audience will learn about several key approaches to fusion and recent breakthroughs and activity, as well as gain a greater understanding of the effects of fusion commercialization and deployment. Fusion power is clean, efficient, and manufactured. Fusion commercialization and deployment has the capability to greatly mitigate climate change, greatly increase energy accessibility, create new jobs, and stabilize energy supplies across the globe. Fusion power at scale has the power to create energy security, not only at the national level but globally. The Russian invasion of Ukraine and its aftermath demonstrate the urgent need to end the capability of using energy as a pawn, wielded by powers threatening international security. Fusion commercialization and deployment has the power to do this. It will shift energy away from being a scarce resource to a manufactured one. The latest advancements in fusion technology development and pushes from both the private and public sectors demonstrate that this energy revolution is fast approaching.
