The Fusion Industry Association launched its election vision document on “Bringing Fusion Energy to the U.S. Grid”, laying out key priorities and asks ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential election. The time for action is now. Industry and global government activity is accelerating and will not wait. The decisions made by the next President and Congress will be pivotal, determining, by the end of the President’s first term, whether the U.S. remains at the forefront of commercializing fusion energy or cedes its leadership.
On September 10 and then 16-20, the IAEA held its Board of Governors Meeting and General Conference in Vienna, Austria. Both events had discussions on growth in the fusion industry, development and deployment, and strategy moving forward.

On September 19, the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources held a full committee hearing to examine fusion energy technology development and commercialization efforts. Witnesses included Dr. Jean Paul Allain, Associate Director of the Office of Fusion Energy Sciences (FES) at the U.S. Department of Energy; Jackie Siebens, Director of Public Affairs at FIA member Helion Energy; and Dr. Patrick White, Research Director at the Nuclear Innovation Alliance.
Fusion will provide reliable, carbon-free electricity for an expanding global economy. That will have profound geopolitical consequences.
